This book has been prepared as the outcome of a research project carried out by a team from the fields of architecture, interior architecture, industrial design and civil engineering within the scope of the TOBITAK 1001-Scientific and Technological Research
Projects Support Program "Earthquake Research" Call opened in 2021. Experience indicates that in cases where buildings do not collapse during earthquakes, the risks that may be encountered can be reduced by taking precautions in their interior spaces.
The presented residential interior design criteria are aimed to be a guide accessible to everyone as well as designers, and a scientific resource to ensure social consciousness and awareness, in line with the data taken from the existing literature and
systematically analysed. Besides, it is expected that the algorithmic design model proposed within the scope of the research project can increase the widespread impact of the study for future studies on the subject, with its potential to be used for the
interiors of different types of buildings that accommodate a large number of users, such as schools and hospitals.
