Mission & Vision
Our Mission
To carry our technical publishing tradition, which began in 1797 with the Mühendishane Press, into the future with the awareness of our historical responsibility. As the representative of this deep-rooted heritage, our primary duties are:
- To preserve the historical value of pioneering works such as Mehâh-i Miyâh (1797), Kava’id-i Ressamiye, and Mukavemet-i Ecsam, which were printed during the period of the Mühendishane Press,
- To keep alive the accumulation of knowledge that gained momentum with the library series of the School of Engineering (1923) and the Higher School of Engineering (1930),
- To sustain the scientific authority provided by over 4,000 technical publications published to date,
- To uninterruptedly continue Istanbul Technical University's pioneering role in technical publishing by combining it with current technologies and academic competence.
Our Vision
To strengthen our position among the respected academic publishing houses of Türkiye and the world by blending our publishing experience of more than two centuries with the requirements of the digital age. While preserving the rare works of the past, we aim to be a publishing center that shapes the engineering and technical literature of the future and is accepted as a point of reference for the scientific world.
