This study, which addresses the critical role of seismic base isolation and energy dissipation systems in structural design from an architectural perspective, presents modern seismic design methods in the form of a technical handbook. This work, which aims to address the lack of knowledge regarding the architectural design requirements of these advanced technologies, which have become mandatory in Turkey, especially in hospital buildings, has been prepared as a synthesis of long-term studies, observations, and research. Offering practical solutions to complex design problems encountered in the process of isolating traditional building stock from seismic effects, the book is a visionary guide for architects, engineers, and urban planners, bringing together current international standard practices with local dynamics.
